Saddam Blew It... Big Time!

62759-537283-thumbnail.jpgSaddam Hussein, former dictator and cruel master of Iraq has been declared guilty by an Iraqi court.  It has been ordered that he be put to death by hanging.

What if, at an early age, there was someone who had taken Saddam under their wing and taught him (and exhibited for him) what it meant to "...keep your heart on the right path..." (Proverbs 23:19)?

What if... he had listened (early on) to the voice of his conscience with regard to right and wrong?

What if... he had raised his own sons to honor and fear God?

A lot of "What if's..." to be sure.

Now, having been judged by a human court, the only higher court that remains for him to be processed through is the court of heaven.  And, unless he has a turn-around in his heart and surrenders to Jesus Christ prior to his execution (sort of like the repentant thief on the cross that hung next to Jesus some 2,000 years ago), there will be no peace for him in eternity.  What he did to so many other people will pale in comparison to the agony that he will experience in the absence of the Lord's presence, and in the active presence of the devil and his fallen angels.

I wonder which of the world's children today will become the next Saddam of tomorrow.

Then again, I wonder which child's future and destiny will be altered today [for the good] by someone who reaches out to them to help them learn to "... keep you heart on the right path..." (Proverbs 23:19).

I wonder what I can do today.  Do you wonder what you can do today, too?

Thanks for reading.
